We’ve found a way to partially make newlandpictures.net “independent”, meaning that we’ve accepted advertisement on the site. Some posts might have text that is a bit out of context. This is a necessary evil, but it pays the bills.

Gilded evil is in a way a teaser for Rise of Legion but will be made as a shortfilm. Written by Christopher Marins it explores the constant feeling of being watched by an invisible force, something that is lurking in the shadows.

Filming is scheduled to begin in the late summer to then be released in the beginning of 2010, before filming of Rise of Legion begins.

Nightmare got a song for the end credits. Written and produced by Ian Eric Highhill from Olympos Mons, he has really created a masterpiece

Nightmare is currently cut and the soundtrack is almost finished. We’re still working on the audio parts and sound effects. People who have seen the work print, really think that each actor is doing a great job especially Sampo Sade, who plays the psychopath

Last thursday, a production meeting was held and the story (has changed alot) was presented to everyone! Our main goal is now to plan and scout the locations this year and of course cast all the actors.

We had earlier a plan to film the opening scene this summer but now we might have to reschedule and do it next summer instead. But everyone involved is really looking forward to get the cameras rolling

New Land Pictures is involved in producing a Ghost Hunting Team called, working title; “NLPS – New Land Paranormal Society” founded by Eddie Phoenix, Maz Nylund and Christopher Marins.

Our primary goal is:

Go into a haunted location, do a thoroughly investigation of the location. Then interview people connected to it and do a history background check. If any evidence of a haunting will appear on our equipment, introduce it to the clients.

We’ll ONLY investigate, NOT exorcise.

All of the NLPS – team members share a common interest of one day catching evidence, we believe could be actual paranormal sightings.

Rise of Legion will be New Land Picture’s first full lenght movie. Currently the screenplay is being written by Christopher Marins and Eddie Phoenix. If everything turns out fine the opening scene will be filmed this summer and the rest autumn 2009 and summer 2010.

The basic story is very complex, what turned out to be only a simple splatter movie is now our point of views of the bible and the coming of judgment day.

A promo photo shoot was performed by Jesse Laitinen on April 26th and it went GREAT. It will also be the cover of the movie and it shows the main character struggling with the demon Legion.

Quoted in the writing room by Christopher Marins to Eddie Phoenix; “Every story told is based on real events, but that doesn’t mean the story is entirely true, rather distorted.”

Tomorrow we’ll go and check out a possible location for our upcoming project “Rise of Legion”.

It’s an old mental hospital in southern Finland. Nowadays it’s a school and a residence for students.

We’ll tell you more after our visit at the location. Stay tuned.

This saturday we’ll shoot the last two big scenes from the movie Nightmare and it ends in a “wrap party”
